Information about Embraer Phenom 100
The EMB-500 Phenom 100 administrative aircraft was created by Embraer, a Brazilian company, and first flew into the sky on July 26, 2007.
In 2008, the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency issued a type certificate for an Embraer Phenom 100 aircraft. “In 2005, we promised to build a revolutionary aircraft with an excellent passenger cabin, excellent flight performance and low operating costs. Today, this goal has been achieved,” said Vice President Luis Carlos Affonso.
Less than four years have passed from the start of designing the Phenom 100 aircraft to the award of the certificate. At the beginning of the design, the estimated maximum range of the Phenom 100 was 2,148 km, during the certification tests a value of 2,182 km with 4 passengers and fuel reserves was obtained according to the NBAA IFR. For takeoff at maximum take-off weight, the aircraft requires a 953 m long strip, and the calculations featured a value of 1037 m. The climb rate at elevated ambient temperatures also surpassed the calculated values. The landing distance according to the results of certification tests is 823 m, which is 92 m less than the calculated value.
Equipped with two PW617F-E engines, the Phenom 100 also exceeded the estimated fuel efficiency by 3.6% on long routes. True airspeed was also higher than estimated. The aircraft is certified without restrictions, it is able to fly day and night, in icing conditions. In terms of noise, the Phenom 100 meets the requirements of Chapter IV of the ICAO.
The aircraft is equipped with a fully integrated Garmin 1000 – “Prodigy (R)” avionics package, which offers more advantages than any other avionics kit on the market today. There are three interchangeable 12-inch monitors in the cockpit — two Primary Flight Shows (PFD) and one Multi-Functional (MFD). The system integrates the entire primary flight, navigation, communication, landscape, movement, weather, data of the crew’s emergency alert system. Large flight displays with a matte anti-glare surface not only optimally display the necessary flight information, but also facilitate the work of the pilot.
The aircraft is designed for four (or six) passengers and provides a high level of comfort. The interior is made in collaboration with engineers from BMW Designworks USA.
Note that the international design team was faced with a number of difficult tasks: innovative design solutions had to be aligned with strict safety standards, Embraer manufacturing processes and expectations of an optimal price-performance ratio.
The interior of the passenger compartment and the collection of materials from which it is made, have also been certified. Thanks to the large windows, passengers are provided with excellent natural light, a wardrobe in the front of the cabin, a toilet and a trunk in the rear of the cabin provide additional amenities.
The dimensions of the cabin are relatively small: length is 3.35 m, height is 1.50 m and width is 1.55 m, but you can move between the seats almost to full height, since there is a niche in the floor and ceiling that increases the height of the room. The internal configuration has three options with leather seats, each seat is equipped with a portable computer with the ability to communicate the passenger / pilot. A folder with papers, a diary or a handbag to keep on your lap the entire flight, too, do not have to-they can be placed in the niches of the case, located near each seat. Onboard amenities include a recreation center, satellite communications, a wardrobe in the rear of the cabin and a toilet room. With a configuration capable of accommodating up to six passengers (aerotaxi), the Phenom 100 has a huge 1.6 cubic meter luggage compartment that conveniently transports passenger baggage, golf bags, and skis.
Embraer’s after-sales service is ready to work with this aircraft. 4 new service centers are already open in Europe and the USA. The entire after-sales service network will include 7 Embraer service centers and 38 authorized service centers around the world.
The first aircraft buyers are already undergoing technical training at the Embraer training center. Ready to work and a new customer contact center. Spare parts warehouse built in Louisville, USA.
Certification of the aircraft is expected soon by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which will enable the delivery of aircraft in the coming weeks.
On January 5, 2009, the price of the Phenom 100 in the basic configuration with an FAA certificate is set at $ 3.18 million, with an ANAC certificate at $ 3.25 million. In January 2005, under the economic conditions, the price of the aircraft will increase to 3 in 2009, 6 and 3.68 million, respectively.
