Information about Cessna Citation X

Cessna Citation X – administrative aircraft (light jet aircraft for small business), developed by the American company Cessna Aircraft Company. Cessna announced Citation X in October 1990 at the NBAA annual meeting. The engine was tested on the Citation VII from August 21, 1992. The prototype fuselage was docked to the wing in June 1993.

The first flight was made on December 21, 1993 at 4.42 pm. At the helm were Doug Hazelwood and Ken Kimball. The total flight time was 45 minutes. Two subsequent prototypes, made their first flight on September 27, 1994 and January 11, 1995. Together, they were in the air for more than 3000 hours before the FAA certification was held on June 3, 1996. Initially, certification was assumed in August 1995, but the weight change payload led to a delay.

Aircraft deliveries began in August 1996 with the transfer of the first aircraft (number 003) to golf legend Arnold Palmer. In February 1997, the Citation X development team was awarded the National Aeronautical Association’s award as the first commercial aircraft in US history to achieve a cruising speed of 0.92 M “. The 2500th Cessna Citation was the Citation X, delivered on September 10, 1997.

Today, the Cessna Citation X is the fastest civilian aircraft in the world. He easily overcomes the sound barrier, having a cruising speed of a little less than thousands of kilometers per hour.
To date, all the aircraft of the Cessna Citation X family operated in the world have made about a million takeoffs and landings. If you add up all the routes that these aircraft flew, the result will be equivalent to four flights from Earth to the Sun. The average lifespan of an aircraft of this brand exceeds the service life of most other private aircraft.

The development team of the Citation X family of aircraft models continuously continues to improve its offspring, tracking all the scientific engineering, technological and design innovations in the field of aircraft manufacturing in order to apply all the best achievements of human thought in the next aircraft modification.
