Information about Airbus A310 

At the beginning of 1982, the Airbus Industry consortium announced the development of a version of the A310-300 aircraft for operation on routes longer than the A310-200 aircraft. Officially, the development of the aircraft began in March 1983 after the start of deliveries of aircraft A310-200. The main difference of the A310-300 aircraft from the original one is the presence of an additional fuel tank with a capacity of 6100 liters in the horizontal tail unit and the application of an automated fuel transfer system to maintain optimal balancing of the aircraft in flight. At the ends of the wing, small arrow-shaped aerodynamic surfaces (“washers”) were installed, which later became installed on A310-200 aircraft.

The first flight of the prototype A310-300 with Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7R4 engines took place on July 8, 1985, and the first flight of the aircraft with General Electric CF6-80C2 engines in September 1985. The certification of the aircraft was completed in December 1985, and the same month, the Swiss airline Swisser received the first aircraft. In October 1991, the A310-300 aircraft was certified by the Aviaregistr of the Russian Federation, as a result of which it received the right to operate in Russian airlines. Currently, Aeroflot-Russian International Airlines has 10 A310-300 aircraft, two of which are leased from the Yakut airline Diamond Saha. Several А310-200 and -300 airplanes are used in the air forces of a number of countries (Canada, Germany, France and Thailand) for the transportation of high-ranking officials, as well as military transport vehicles. In 1995, one A310-300 aircraft was converted into a transport aircraft MRTT. The MRTT aircraft can carry a variety of military cargoes, as well as additional fuel weighing 28 tons, designed for refueling one or two aircraft in flight.

The aircraft is equipped with the EFIS digital avionics complex, which consists of four multi-color display to display the necessary information about the flight, and a digital system for monitoring the operation of on-board systems and warning of failures ESAM. Radio navigation equipment complies with the ARINC 700 standard. Serially produced since 1985. By the beginning of 1997, 176 aircraft of this modification were sold, 167 were delivered. The total number of A310 aircraft sold to mid-1997 is 261, of which 249 aircraft were in operation.
